Audit & Scope of Work prepared for Electrum Portfolio Managers
This proposal outlines the complete website audit, redesign and modernisation plan for Electrum Capital Portfolio Managers. The current site (WordPress + Elementor) is functional but dated: front-end performance is bloated, standard security headers are missing, and, as a SEBI-registered Portfolio Manager, the site is missing pages that are effectively mandatory for this category, including a Privacy Policy and a Disclaimer/Disclosure Document.
Our recommendation is a complete revamp and rebuild of the website in React, replacing the current WordPress/Elementor stack entirely with a modern, component-based front end, alongside a rebuilt information architecture centred on trust and compliance, security hardening as a day-one deliverable, and a launch gate built around explicit performance and Core Web Vitals targets.
A live, external audit of electrumcapital.in. No CMS or hosting login was used or required.
| Item | Finding |
|---|---|
| Platform | WordPress 7.1.1, page builder: Elementor 4.1.5 |
| Theme | Hello Elementor + a child theme |
| Key plugins | Elementor, Essential Addons for Elementor, Header Footer Elementor, BDT Prime Slider, Contact Form 7, a custom "electrum-accessibility-fix" plugin |
| Hosting | Apache 2.4.52 on Ubuntu, HTTPS via Let's Encrypt (certificate valid, auto-renewing) |
| Pages indexed | Home, Our Strategies, About Us, Contact Us, Services, Media, Press Release, Newsletter, Factsheets, Blog, and an unused default "Sample Page" |
| Third-party integrations | Nuvama asset servicing (client reporting portal), a portfolio.electrumcapital.in subdomain, SEBI SCORES, SEBI SmartODR, Axis Bank escrow verification |
| Finding | Evidence | Severity |
|---|---|---|
| Heavy front-end payload | Homepage HTML alone is ~396 KB; 42 script tags and 31 stylesheet links load on a single page | High |
| No lazy loading | Zero instances of loading="lazy" found anywhere on the homepage: every image and background asset loads eagerly | High |
| Font bloat | 4 full Google Font families (Roboto, Roboto Slab, Poppins, Raleway) loaded with all 18 weights/styles each | Med-High |
| No CDN / caching layer | Static assets served directly from Apache with no cache-control or CDN headers observed | Medium |
| Plugin/builder overhead | Elementor + multiple add-on plugins each ship their own CSS/JS bundles, a classic WordPress bloat pattern | Medium |
| TTFB | ~0.9s time-to-first-byte on first request; acceptable, not a bottleneck today | Low |
| Finding | Evidence | Severity |
|---|---|---|
| Admin username disclosed via REST API | GET /wp-json/wp/v2/users publicly returns the admin account's username with no authentication; this is the most common entry point for WordPress brute-force / credential-stuffing attacks | High |
| Missing security headers | Only Strict-Transport-Security is set. No X-Content-Type-Options, X-Frame-Options, Content-Security-Policy, Referrer-Policy, or Permissions-Policy | Medium |
| Version disclosure | Page source exposes exact WordPress (7.1.1) and Elementor (4.1.5) versions, making it trivial to check for known CVEs | Medium |
| WP-JSON fully open | The whole REST namespace is discoverable and unrestricted beyond just the users endpoint | Low-Med |
| SSL/TLS | Valid Let's Encrypt certificate, HSTS enabled with includeSubDomains (healthy) | Good |
The most important section for a SEBI-registered Portfolio Manager: treat as a launch blocker, not a nice-to-have.
Complete revamp and rebuild in React: the current WordPress/Elementor stack will be fully replaced with a modern, component-based React front end: a smaller public attack surface (no exposed wp-admin/wp-json), a materially better performance ceiling, and a codebase built for long-term maintainability.
| Phase | Scope | Duration |

| 1. Discovery & IA | Stakeholder interviews, content audit, sitemap redesign, competitor benchmarking | Day 1 |

| 3. Content | CMS structure and page templates set up for client-supplied copy and assets; compliance content (Privacy Policy, Disclosure Document) drafted or approved by the client's compliance/legal team | Parallel with Phase 2 |
| 4. Development | Build the React front end, CMS integration, forms, integrations (Nuvama portal, portfolio subdomain) | Days 6–10 |
| 5. SEO & Performance Hardening | Redirect mapping, schema, font/image optimisation, caching/CDN, security headers | Parallel with Phase 4 |
| 6. QA & Staging | Cross-device/browser testing, stakeholder UAT, accessibility pass | Day 11 |
